I have practised as a therapist since 2001, successfully gaining my Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling in 2003, followed by a three-year Diploma in Gestalt Therapy. My career has included doing long and short term work for several voluntary sector counselling agencies. I have worked as a therapist at Edinburgh University Student Counselling Service, and managed a private practice in Manchester, Birmingham and now Edinburgh.

Besides therapy, for 16 years I worked in the charity sector in community and volunteer development, fundraising and project management (most recently for a social care charity). I started my career as the marketing manager of a small experimental theatre.
